2021年12月15日-16日，人工智能学院首届中外合作办学硕士研究生毕业论文答辩顺利举行，91名研究生参加了此次答辩。受疫情影响，本次答辩通过线下会场结合线上方式举行。26名英国萨塞克斯大学老师和13名浙江工商大学老师作为答辩委员会委员参与了此次学生答辩。答辩会场为人工智能学院新启用教室，学院为各教室配备了相关专业设备。答辩共分13组，各答辩组委员由2名英方老师及1名中方老师组成，英方老师使用ZOOM会议软件加入答辩会场。答辩过程包括10分钟项目展示、5分钟问答环节。学生在答辩过程中全程使用英文进行交流。各组配备一名答辩记录员进行全程答辩内容记录，确保答辩过程公开透明，严谨公正。

学生答辩项目的内容广泛新颖，其中人工智能与自适应系统专业学生毕业论文项目包括情感分析、图神经网络、实体消歧、实体链接、电信号传感器检测人员流动等；机器人与自动化系统专业学生项目包括医疗机器人设计研发、5G通信、智能驾驶、智慧农业、人脸识别、车载技术、机械臂协作等。各组答辩学生通过PPT介绍了项目的意义、研究内容与方法、研究成果及创新点和应用价值等。答辩委员会对每位答辩学生的论文进行点评和提问，肯定了学生的付出与努力，也指出了论文中存在的不足，并提出了相应的修改意见。

会后，英方人工智能与自适应系统专业负责人Dr.Julie Weeds 及机器人与自动化系统专业负责人Dr.Zhengguo Sheng分别对两个专业的学生答辩情况进行总结，并高度评价了学生的成果展示。

Dr. Julie Weeds （人工智能与自适应系统专业负责人）："Despite the many challenges faced by students and teaching staff over the past 15 months, the project presentations demonstrated that our AIAS students have developed and carried out interesting and technically challenging projects in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Systems. Our students have demonstrated their ability to carry out independent research in this area and to think creatively in coming up with solutions. The presentations were carried out with a high degree of professionalism and the students were largely able to demonstrate their understanding and ability to communicate complex ideas in English. Well done to all of our students."

Dr. Zhengguo Sheng （机器人与自动化系统专业负责人）："Our RAS students have been great in demonstrating engineering skills and project results, which is an achievement of countless hours of practise with our ZJSU local team. It is usually a challenge to present Engineering projects remotely, but this cohort students are able to deliver compelling and visually stunning presentations. The pandemic brings us unusual teaching and learning experience during the past one year, but our ZJSU students manage to overcome all difficulties and perform with no difference to our local students."

本次2020级硕士研究生毕业论文答辩是我院中英合作办学首届硕士研究生毕业论文答辩，学院将对本次学生的优秀毕业项目作品进行集中展示。此次答辩不仅是对我院中英合作培养研究生学术能力的全面检验，更是我院中英合作办学研究生教育成果的体现，对完善我院教学质量监督保障体系及推动中英联合培养研究生学位论文质量工作具有重要意义。
